Origin — Central Mediterranean (Malta region)

Coat — Single, long, straight, silky pure-white coat hanging to the floor; no undercoat; very low shedding.

Recognised colours — Pure white; a slight lemon or tan tinge on the ears is tolerated but not desired.

Gentle, affectionate, lively and fearless for its size. A devoted lap companion that bonds intensely.

Trainability — Moderate — clever and willing but can be stubborn about house-training.

Grooming — High. Daily brushing of the silky coat; a short trim is popular and practical in India.

Good with — Best with gentle older children, seniors and calm pets. A classic apartment and companion breed.

Tolerates warmth reasonably; the white coat shows dirt and the lack of undercoat means it chills in AC. Trim short for summer comfort.
